Liddle's Syndrome

alternative name: PSEUDOALDOSTERONISM

a rare AD disorder
appears to have Primary hyperaldosteronism, BUT renin and aldosterone are suppressed.Becasue the kidneys excrete potassium but retain too much sodium and water, leading to high blood pressure.

Treatment: salt restriction, K supplement, either amiloride or triameterene (No response to spironolactone)

Prognisis: very good :-)
